Last month’s Art Mail in Review
Now that last month’s art mail has (hopefully) found its way home to each of you, I thought I’d make a post to share it publicly. This print was a bit of an experiment to familiarize myself with the steps needed to make a two layer print using my block / stamp printing materials.
Since buying our house last summer, we’ve watched the leaves thin, and our house is now peaking out of its perch on the hill. For now, from the bridge in town, you can look up at our house in the trees, while the river rushes underneath you. The trees are about to burst with new growth any week now, and our home will tuck itself away again for the summer.
I had a bit of a hard time lining up the two stamps between layers, and despite allowing plenty of drying time, the black ink from the print would muddy the stamp each time. I’d like to give another go with the white and black ink , after and iron out some of these technical wrinkles… But I’m actually pretty pleased with these results having just tried the once.
I hope you’re enjoying your day out there 🙂
Chat soon, much love on this springy, sunny day in Bear River.
